Anglebert Niyoyitungira is the new editor of AfricaWorld News Burundi. From his new office in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi, he will oversee AfricaWorld News operations in the Great Lakes region. According to the statement issued by Eric Bosire, Head, AfricaWorld News Board of Managing Editors (Heads of operations in countries), the new AfricaWorld News Burundi editor will take up his position on 1st October in Bujumbura.
Anglebert Niyoyitungira joined AfricaWorld News as a volunteer news correspondent. He later rose to deputy Bureau Chief before becoming the Managing Editor. In his brief circular announcing the appointment, Mr. Eric Bosire described the new editor as “Hardworking and dedicated to work.” Anglebert Niyoyitungira holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Burundi. He later proceeded to Makerere University, Kampala – Uganda, where he did a course in language immersion.
The appointment of this dynamic young man to the office of editor, AfricaWorld News Burundi will open up the region to readers and followers from all parts of the world. As a Managing Editor, he introduced a dual-language version of the weekly bulletin.
