“Giving back is part and parcel of my project each year on my birthday celebration — I pick a school or orphanage and give back what I have.

“The AFWN is one of the biggest and most cherished fashion showcases in Africa. I am so thrilled to be selected and henceforth will represent Zimbabwe,” she said.

The fashion icon said was ready for the show.

“Our luxury brand is what we will be showcasing. Dubbed ‘Inside the label’ our collection has been inspired by prom 2016. I have created garments for the red carpet, luxury, elegance, style and exquisite couture with some Ankra feel,” she said.

Allen has always been fashion forward from a very young age drawing her inspiration from Africa’s beauty as seen in her inimitable designs.

“I am excited to expand the brand globally.

“For this show, I have created summer/spring collection made in a fresh new look that fuses modern contemporary designs with the influences from Western region of Africa,” she said.

Allen moved to Nigeria where she started running a franchise for The Body Shop being the sole distributor for the brand, which she is currently doing.

“I always had a passion for designing and decided to open a fashion house in my motherland Zimbabwe while my factory is based in Nigeria where I am staying. TIR Fashion House is a legacy in memory of my late Zimbabwean mother,” she said.

However, it is now a year since she launched TIR Fashion House and is proudly an award winning fashion designer with a few awards under her wing.

Allen received the “Emerging Designer Of the Year” at the Africa Fashion Week London 2014 and went on to participate at the “Off Show” at London Fashion Week 2014 while still basking in her glory.

She has only scratched the surface of her plans to take the fashion world by storm.
